The Power Within

For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said, “I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16
Paul expressed the incredible thought that God Himself through Jesus Christ would move into our hearts and live through us, making our hearts His home. Then John made the results of that so practically understandable:
The Word became flesh and blood,
and moved into the neighborhood.
We saw the glory with our own eyes,
the one-of-a-kind glory,
like Father, like Son,
Generous inside and out,
true from start to finish. John 1:14 MSG
Through His relationship with us, living in us and through us, Jesus Himself moves into our neighborhood. As we live and interact through Him, people get to see His one of a kind, transforming glory with their own eyes. They see Him in us!
What does that look like? Generosity. Jesus is generous and grace-filled from start to finish. The most accurate representation we will ever give of Him will be when we are generous and giving to the core. What we do will be for Him and them. It also looks like Truth. Jesus was completely trustworthy, giving and living the complete truth. His love was from start to finish—no time outs and no detours. He persevered and was always faithful. When the people in our neighborhoods see us up close and personal living like this, we will be a blessing like Jesus.
