No Neutral Zone

It has come at last—salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth—the one who accuses them before our God day and night. And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. Revelation 12:10-11 NIV

Fact #1: We’re in a battle.

Fact #2: We didn’t choose it. The question is not whether or not we want to be in it. Everyone is in it.

Fact #3: Our choice is what we do with the war. Either we are defeated by Satan, “the prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2) and following him to our own destruction, or we are “resisting him, standing firm in the faith” (1 Peter 5:9).

There is no neutral zone. John saw in a vision what will happen when it is all finally over. He said that the terrible liar and accuser we know as our great enemy Satan will be forever defeated because of the battles we are fighting right now. We are now defeating him first by the “blood of the Lamb,” the sacrifice of Jesus we have personally accepted as the payment for our sins. Then, we are defeating him by the word of our testimony. Our faithful witness for Jesus strengthens us, encourages others, and takes back prisoners of war from Satan.

Paul invites us to be his partner. He says, “Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 2:3). We are following Jesus Christ, the victorious King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 17:14). We can say with assurance…

Praise the LORD, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle. Psalm 144:1 NLT

  • Jesus, I know when You are with me I can fight and win. I choose You. You are my Rock. Train me and use me. Amen.
