Youth Basketball and Cheer League
WINTER 2024 (STUDENTS IN GRADES K-6)

Basketball and Cheer are back this winter at Armor Sports, and students in Grades K-6 are invited to participate. This high energy and fun recreational league is designed to create a wholesome family experience, where kids can practice their sport through a positive youth sports environment. Our programs emphasize life-skill development through our MORE THAN A GAME (MTAG) program. Coaches are selected and trained to lead by example alongside intentional curriculum. Registration will open October 4, with coed divisions in grades K-1 and boys and girls divisions in grades 2-6. Our Cheer program is open for any girls in grades K-6.

Register by December 11, 2023.
Season begins January 15, 2024.

  • Practices: 1 hour a week
  • Games: 7 Saturday game days
  • Registration fee: $75
  • Players receive practice shirt, game uniform
  • Equipment needed: footwear, water bottle, and undershorts (Cheer only)
  • Tournaments included for grades 4-6 with awards

The Armor Sports Complex

The Armor Sports Complex is the home of Armor Sports outdoor programming. The complex is also open to the community from sunrise to sunset and features a walking track, playground, four pickleball courts, two full-size basketball courts with adjustable goals, a beautiful pavilion with public restrooms, stunning scenic views and more. To access the complex, pull onto the Dover campus property at 3950 SR 39 and follow the signs.

Please be aware that there may be occasions when the complex is unavailable due to reserved events. We encourage you to check the newpointe.org/events page ahead of visits.

More Than A Game

Armor Sports is a premier youth sports experience focused on developing character and integrity on and off the field. At Armor Sports, we utilize a More Than A Game (MTAG) philosophy that emphasizes life-skill development. We want to partner with families to further develop the character and integrity of their children based on Christian values. While Armor Sports is a ministry of NewPointe Community Church, we invite anyone in the community to participate.

SPORTS & LOCATIONS

Armor Sports includes basketball, soccer, flag football, and cheer at NewPointe’s Dover campus. All camps, practices, and games will be held at NewPointe Community Church, 3950 SR 39 NW, Dover, Ohio. Armor Sports will be available at other NewPointe locations in the future.

PRACTICES & GAMES

Your child’s team info will include their coach’s contact info, practice and game schedules, as well as the sport location/address. Game schedules will also be posted online at newpointe.org/sports.

REGISTRATION & REFUNDS

Your child’s online registration is required for participation in Armor Sport camps and leagues. Confirmation of your child’s registration will include important dates, including when team info will be available. Registration fees are due at time of registration and will be refunded when requested prior to a division filling or closing. Email refund requests to ArmorSports@newpointe.org.

CLOSURES & CANCELLATIONS

Your child’s team schedule will include all scheduled closure dates. Cancellations due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances will be communicated by your child’s coach.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE ARMOR SPORTS COMPLEX?

While we are excited to finally open the complex to the public, we’re still actively working on new features:

  • An ADA-friendly playground
  • Workshops and programming for pickleball and other popular activities
  • Irrigation installation across the sports fields
  • Continued upgrades on our courts
