Uniquely You, Team Job

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 NLT

God has been creating humans ever since the Garden of Eden. And each of those humans is incomprehensibly unique. Even so-called “identical twins” have distinctive differences and unique qualities. No one else in all of creation has your “you-ness.” No matter how much you look like your mother, sound like your dad, are a “chip off the old block,” or the apple that didn’t fall far from the tree, you are your own person. No one has your unique DNA, your own divine design that cannot be cloned or duplicated. No one else has your unique journey or history. Your personality, your abilities, and your insights blend together for a one-of-a-kind person. There’s only one in stock.😊 You are matchless, a never-to-be-duplicated masterpiece.

But there’s another part of you that you must know. You are to bring your unique YOU to a team of other unique creations and together bring in the Kingdom. The Church is God’s masterpiece, comprised of all of us unique masterpieces that He has made new through the work of Jesus. The reason He has created the Church is so that together we can do the good things He planned long before our births for us to do.

What are those good things? They are the things that bring the Good News of Jesus and the abundant life to every single person. Jesus made it plain that He came for the WHOLE world. Since mankind first sinned in the Garden of Eden and destroyed paradise, God has been at work to restore everyone. It comes through the redemption plan, and now our part is to actively work with our gifts and abilities to tear down any obstacles and throw open all the doors for the healing and joy of Jesus to every person.

Your part on the team is vital. You can do something no one else can do exactly as you can do it. Paul tells is that “the Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others” (1 Corinthians 12:7 CEV). EACH of us. All of us are called to be part of this amazing task and privilege. You are not here by accident. You are not at this place and time by accident. God put you here NOW to use your gifts, your contacts, your personality, your opportunities to do HIS business, the business of loving and serving people into His forever family.

• O Lord, my Creator, the Author of my story and the entire redemption story of love, I thank You for creating me and gifting me. Help me fulfill my calling as I choose to live and love like Jesus, making the Father’s business my focus.
