King Jesus
November 28, 2022
This Sunday we are kicking off a brand-new series called King Jesus. This is the story of a King. A King who was not born of royalty, wrapped in fine linen, nor with a crown of jewels waiting for His coronation. But rather a King who would save us from our sin, show us how to live and love like Him, and who ultimately sacrificed Himself for His people. This is the story of King Jesus.
Most people don’t fully know and understand the Christmas story—even those of us who claim to be Christ followers. We tend to think it is about a baby in a manger, but it is so much more than that. We are going to spend this Advent season taking a closer look at the first Christmas, because when you really look at it and really understand it, this message has the potential to change everything. That’s what I want for myself and for you and for my friends who are not yet truly aware of the incredible change this King can make for those who receive Him.
Christmas is a time where statistically people are more open about attending church than any other time of the year. In fact, three of four people say they would attend a service at Christmas if someone they knew specifically invited them. Paul tells the church in Ephesus to make the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. I think all of us would agree that the days we currently live in are filled with evil. We need to take Paul’s advice! I encourage you to be strategic and take advantage of this new series that we have created specifically to help you influence and inspire your family and friends to follow Jesus.
You have three Sundays and all the Christmas Eve services to invite, invite, invite. You know that NewPointe will give great care and prayer to planning times together that will give a warm welcome to your friends and family, and there will be people here they can meet who will give them extra incentive to come back. Perhaps you want to sweeten your invitation a little by arranging to pick them up if that helps, or meet them in the lobby, or save a seat for them. Maybe you’ll want to take them to lunch or coffee after to extend the experience a bit.
I challenge you to make a commitment to be here every weekend in December and at one of our Christmas Eve services. And don’t come alone. It is a special season of giving. The best gift you could give to those you know and care about is the opportunity to meet and spend forever with King Jesus. It will make their life here fulfilling and satisfying and give them a wonderful forever.
Invite a friend by sharing our posts on social media, grabbing an invite card from one of our campuses, or by share the newpointe.org/events link with them for detailed information.
