Men, do you realize how much you are needed?
As we celebrate Father's Day, we naturally think about fathers. But whether you are a father or not, God has given you an opportunity to play an important role in the lives of others.
It is easy to miss that calling. Many men assume someone else will step in, or they simply drift through life without recognizing the influence they could have. Sadly, too many do.
The presence of a godly man – as a father, husband, grandfather, uncle, mentor, coach, friend, or neighbor – is invaluable. Men help provide stability, encouragement, wisdom, protection, and perspective. They model perseverance through hardship, integrity in relationships, and courage in the face of challenges. Their influence helps build healthy families, strong communities, and secure lives.
To the men reading this, don't underestimate the difference you can make. Someone needs your presence, your guidance, your encouragement, and your example. Be intentional. Engage. Invest in the people God has placed around you.
And to the women reading this – wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends – I encourage you to challenge and encourage the men in your lives. Help them recognize how much they matter and how greatly they are needed.
I don't fully understand all the reasons why, but we know that when a man is absent from a child's life, that child often faces additional struggles and misses important elements that contribute to healthy development and flourishing.
Ladies, this is not to diminish your role. Far from it. Your influence is vital and irreplaceable. But today, let's also recognize the unique contribution that men make and encourage them to step fully into the opportunities God has given them.
Men, you are needed more than you know.
