Maximize, Don’t Minimize

January 14, 2026

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20 NLT

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 NIV

God has a great purpose for you. You are His handiwork, and you have been created to do great things in that purpose, accomplishing far more for time and eternity than you can even begin to imagine. His purpose for you is the good works which lead people to life in Him. We often feel inadequate and small, thinking that great accomplishments for God are beyond us. We minimize ourselves and our opportunities.

But God wants us to maximize our vision for what He can and will do for the world He loves through us. We can feel great assurance as we work with God in faith to fulfill our purpose in this world. Why?

First, it is God’s almighty power that works within us. It is HIM, not us, and He will make certain to accomplish more than we can even ask or imagine.

Second, we are specially designed and created by Him. We are His handiwork, His masterpiece. We can do whatever He has planned for us to do. We are perfectly equipped to fulfill our purpose.

Third, we are created to do good works – being salt and light in the world, creating desire and thirst for Jesus by the way we live and love.

Fourth, we will be successful. God is with us, and He has already planned and gone ahead of us. He prepares hearts and gives us wisdom to fulfill His purpose in us and lead them to Him and their purpose as well.

Nothing in life is more fulfilling than this. We were created for it. It will happen. We just need to get at it.

This is the path of true life – finding Jesus as our King and then helping others find Him too.

  • When you think of your life’s purpose, you can afford to think big. God does. He sees you playing a major role in His Kingdom, winning people to Him by the way you live and the way you love.
