So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. Galatians 5:16 NLT

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 NIV

When you and I decide to allow the Holy Spirit to fill us and we begin to “walk” or do life with Him, amazing and transformative things happen.

You increasing develop Christ-like character. When you are filled with the Spirit of God, the "fruit of the Spirit" – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control – begins to define your life. You are not striving and trying to get better and better. The fruit naturally grows as you live in Him.

You have access to moment-by-moment guidance. The Holy Spirit is better than a supernatural GPS. He leads you flawlessly, helping you discern God’s purpose and will, and giving you wisdom for every situation. He gives you just what you need just when you need it.

You find freedom and power. Sin keeps us in bondage without the Spirit of God. Temptation is uniquely designed by our Enemy to hit us where we are weakest. But when we walk with the Spirit filling us, we have power to overcome temptation and break free of the habits and attitudes that have kept us enslaved.

You move from knowing about God to an intimate knowledge and relationship with Him. You have a deepened awareness of His presence. You no longer sense distance between you and God, but your experience is vital and vibrant.

You gain an eternal perspective. God's presence becomes consistently more real as you focus less on your troubles and more on His now and forever presence, bringing peace and joy. This is possible as you understand it is not about self-effort but relying on the Holy Spirit to lead. You listen to the Spirit’s voice and quickly obey. You deliberately, intentionally maintain a moment-by-moment connection with God. He is your Source.

  • Oh, God, I want to walk with the Spirit and grow in You in every way. May my life be a witness to Your transforming grace.
