Today’s Scripture: John 13:34-35
When Jesus wanted to identify the defining characteristic of His followers, He did not point to knowledge, talent, or influence. He pointed to love.
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
This kind of love is different from the world’s version of love.
- It is sacrificial
- It is patient
- It is forgiving
- It chooses others even when it is inconvenient
Jesus demonstrated this love throughout His ministry. He welcomed outsiders, forgave sinners, served the needy, and ultimately gave His life for humanity. His followers are called to do the same.
The world is often divided by conflict, selfishness, and competition. Genuine Christlike love stands out because it is rare. People may disagree with our beliefs. They may question our convictions. But they cannot ignore authentic love.
Love is one of the most powerful ways we reflect Jesus.
- It builds bridges
- It heals wounds
- It creates opportunities for people to experience God’s grace
The greatest evidence that we belong to Jesus is not what we say. It is how we love.

Who needs to experience Christlike love from you today? Take one practical step to show them kindness and care.
PRAYER
Jesus, thank You for loving me sacrificially, patiently, and completely. Let Your love be the mark that identifies me as Your follower. Help me love others not only in words but in action, building bridges and reflecting Your grace so that people encounter You through me.
