Trusting God with the Future

Trusting God with the Future

October 28, 2026

Today’s Scripture: 1 Timothy 6:17

One of the greatest reasons people struggle to trust God is uncertainty about the future.

What if I don’t have enough? What if something unexpected happens? What if my plans don’t work out?

Questions like these can quietly create fear and anxiety. When that happens, our natural response is often to tighten our grip on what we have and rely more heavily on our own resources.

Paul reminds believers not to place their hope in wealth because wealth is uncertain. Money comes and goes. Circumstances change. Economies rise and fall. But God remains faithful.

The challenge is not whether we will place our trust somewhere. The challenge is choosing where that trust belongs.

Many people trust money because it feels tangible and predictable. Yet even the best financial plans cannot guarantee the future. Only God can.

Trusting God with the future does not mean ignoring wisdom or failing to plan. It means refusing to let fear become the driving force behind our decisions.

The God who has been faithful in the past will be faithful in the future. The God who provided yesterday will provide tomorrow. The God who knows your needs before you ask is already present in the future you are worried about today.

Faith grows when we shift our focus from what we cannot control to the One who controls all things.

PERSONAL REFLECTION

What future concern causes you the most anxiety? Surrender it to God in prayer and thank Him for His faithfulness.

PRAYER

Lord, my fears about the future tempt me to tighten my grip and rely on myself. I confess how often I trust money because it feels predictable, when only You can be trusted with what lies ahead. You have been faithful in the past, and You will be faithful tomorrow. You are already present in the future I worry about today. Help me surrender my fears and rest in You.
